Terms & Conditions for Wakatipu Toy Library
Welcome to Wakatipu Toy Library! By using our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.
Eligibility: Membership is open to individuals and families who wish to borrow toys.
Registration: To become a member, complete the membership form and provide your contact details.
Duration: Membership is valid for 6 months, 12 months and 2 weeks for Holiday Membership. The renewal is required at the end of the term to continue borrowing.
Non-refundable Fee: A non-refundable membership fee is required. Please refer to the current fee structure.
6-month Helping Membership: Requires completion of one 1.5-hour helping session during the membership term.
12-month Helping Membership: Requires completion of two 1.5-hour helping sessions during the membership term.
Failure to complete required sessions will prevent renewal at the “helping session” rate. Members may be asked to pay for a full membership price instead.
Available for $20 per year.
An additional $2 fee applies each time a toy is borrowed.
Available for $20 for a 2-week period.
A $50 cash bond is required.
I.D. (passport, driver’s licence, etc.) may be asked for when signing up.
Limits: Members may borrow:
4 toys
2 puzzles
1 costume at a time
Borrowing Period: The typical borrowing period is 3 weeks. Extensions may be requested up to two times.
Return Deadline: Toys should be returned on or before the due date.
Return Hours: Toys must be returned during opening hours. Late returns outside these hours or leaving toys outside of the library may result in a fine or cancellation of membership.
Bouncy Castle: booking is essential
A Hire Agreement must be signed prior to pick-up
The hire fee must be paid before pick-up
A cash deposit required upon pick-up
Responsibility: Borrowers are responsible for ensuring toys are well cared for and returned in good condition.
Damage/Loss: If a toy is damaged, lost, or has parts missing, please notify the library immediately. The borrower may be required to pay for repairs or replacement, as determined by the Committee members.
Cleaning: Toys should be cleaned before being returned. Small parts must be securely stored in the provided bag/container (if applicable) and returned with the toy.
Availability: Toys are subject to availability. Toys may be reserved in advance upon request.
Reservation Deadline: Reserved toys must be picked up by closing time. Late pick-ups will result in cancellation of the reservation.
Blackout Periods: Reservation periods may be restricted during peak seasons.
Standards: All toys meet relevant safety standards. However, parents or guardians must supervise children to prevent accidents or injuries.
Suitability: Borrowers are responsible for ensuring toys are appropriate for their child’s age and developmental stage.
Liability: Wakatipu Toy Library is not responsible for injuries during toy use.
Termination Rights: Wakatipu Toy Library reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership if any terms and conditions are violated, including failure to return toys, failure to complete helping sessions, or inappropriate conduct.
Helping Sessions: Failure to complete the required helping sessions may prevent renewal at the “helping session” rate. Members may be asked to pay for a full membership or may be denied renewal.
Cancellation: Members may cancel their membership by notifying the library in writing. Any outstanding fees must be paid before cancellation.
Data Use: Personal information provided during registration will be used solely for membership administration and will not be shared with third parties.
Updating Information: Members may update contact details by contacting the library.
Modifications: Wakatipu Toy Library reserves the right to update or modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. Significant changes will be communicated through our website, newsletter, or other channels.
Responsibility: Wakatipu Toy Library is not liable for any loss, damage, or injury incurred while using borrowed toys. Members assume full responsibility for the care and use of borrowed toys and for the actions of their children.
Resolution Process: In the event of a dispute, members are encouraged to contact the library directly to resolve the issue.
Legal Resolution: If a resolution cannot be reached internally, members may seek dispute resolution under New Zealand law.
By signing up for membership at Wakatipu Toy Library, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions, including the requirement to participate in helping sessions for membership renewal.
